Man Claims To Have Spent 14 Months Adrift At Sea

We read this article today, posted on the Kiwi Kids News website.

After looking at the vocabulary that indicated authorities were not convinced that his story was factual we went on to justify why we thought Jose's story was true or false.

Man claims to have spent 14 months adrift at sea

Created on February 6, 2014
A Mexican man named Jose Salvador Alvarenga claims to have been lost at sea for 13 months.
He claims that he was lost at sea after a day’s fishing trip went horribly wrong.
He says he survived by eating fish, birds and turtles that he caught with his bare hands.
Early this week  he washed up alone in ragged underpants and a bushy beard, 8,000 miles from home on a tiny Pacific island called Ebon. This island is part of the Marshall Islands.
Jose claims to have survived by drinking turtle blood and rainwater and eating birds and fish which he caught.
Jose and a companion set sail from Mexico in 2012 and it is believed that his friend died at sea several months before Jose was found.

We are interested in your thoughts.  Do your think Jose was lost at sea for 13 months or not?

The Time You Have (In JellyBeans)

Today we looked at this video clip.  It got us thinking about the things we still want to do as teenagers moving into adulthood (we will share some of these later).  It is really worth a look.
