To Cut Or Not To Cut!

We have a variety of opinions when it comes to the issue of Lucan Battison and his haircut.

We would be interested reading about your opinion.

We have done some reading about the Maori new year, Matariki.  During our reading we came across this proverb;
Matariki hunga nui
(meaning Matariki has many admirers)

 With this is mind we looked at different ways this grouping of stars are thought about in different countries.

Role Models

We took the opportunity to look at what makes a role model this week after the actions of Angus Pauley, the student in Blenheim who save the young girl from the Taylor River.  Below is Dylan's explanation on what a role model is.

Manawatu Inter-school Cross-Country

A new experience for a small team of our boys today.  Sent them to Ashhurst to compete in the Manawatu Inter-school Cross Country.

Great experience for them to;
  •  run against boys that they don't know or play sport against every week
  • run on a track they have never done before
  • come up against so many competitors in their age group
  • show-off the talent in our school
  • be a small team of boys that represent our wider school community

Well done boys on a great effort today with some pleasing results.  A great experience for you.  Thanks a bunch to Belinda & Dianne for taking you across.  Good luck for Friday at the Dannevirke Inter-school - you will be all cross country-ed out by the weekend!!

Great effort today from the boys at the school cross-country held at the Dannevirke A&P Showgrounds.  Congratulations to Brayden, Liam & Zamaya for taking out the senior event and to Elyjah who won the intermediate event and Thomas who was third.

Good luck to Liam, Max, Dylan, Jayden, Isaac, Elyjah, Thomas and Ryan competing at the Manawatu Inter-school at Ashhurst on Wednesday and to the team (still to be confirmed) competing at the Dannevirke Interschool on Friday at Weber.  A big week for you runners.
