The Cup Challenge

We started Friday a little differently this week.  We had to tie 4 pieces of string to a rubber-band and then use this tool to place plastic cups into a pyramid formation.  Quite a challenge for some groups!!

Capital E

One of our experiences during our recent school trip to Wellington was a visit to Capital E to create a soundtrack for a short movie.  Each pair had to design a different part of the movie.  A great experience and very motivating.  Here is a link Big Buck Bunny that will let you download our creation or watch our creation (just the soundtrack).  Click 2015, September, Huia Range School.  The download is too large to upload on to here.

Learning To Juggle

After 40 minutes, doing exactly as they were told, a number of boys went from not knowing how to juggle to beginning to juggle.  Very clever!  We followed a very prescribe technique and now need to refine our skills.  Take a look.

Kiwiana Ply Wood Cut Outs

With our 10th birthday celebration looming we have been engaged in Kiwiana art.  We had to decide on a piece of Kiwiana that we would like to draw.  We then drew our choice, transferring this to a large piece of cardboard.  From here we made our cardboard drawings into stencils using craft knifes.

We used these stencils to draw our Kiwiana art onto plywood.

The power tools then came into play.  We used a drill to make holes so ...

A quick sandpaper and our art work is going to be reading to paint.

Bike Safety Day 2

Today we learn't about indicating & hand signals. What they had to do was put their hands out and give signals to say they were turning left, turning right, pulling over & pulling out. An obstacle course was put out for the boys to complete.

Bike Safety Week

This week, in conjunction with Constable Kendrick & Phil and Natarsha from Sport Tararua, we are involved in bike safety.  Today was helmet and bike check day.
